Copy Protected CDs? What's Next??
July 6th 2008 01:12
I just picked up the Best of Radiohead CD.
Brought it home to rip and stick onto my iPod (honestly, who lugs around CD wallets anymore?). But, alas, iTunes will not rip it. Apparently it is protected from such an act of piracy?
This, of course, begs many questions:
What's the deal? When did this happen?
Only way to get mp3 is from downloads?
Are record companies trying to piss me off?
Is this the future of CDs?
Am I forced to buy this again from iTunes?
Is there a "work-around" for this problem?
If I find a "work-around", will the feds bust down my door and ship me off to GitMo?
D'oh!
What is a music fan do to? I just want my cake and to eat it, too. Is that too much to ask?
BTW, a great record. A nice synopsis of the band so far. Recommended as an entry into Radiohead music w/o buying a bunch of Deep Tracks.
