Jeff Tweedy: Living Room Shows
March 28th 2009 20:49
Continuing with the buildup for the new Wilco DVD (due in April) and record (due in June), I thought I would share this little nugget of musical goodness with you.
Jeff Tweedy, singer/songwriter of the band, often does solo acoustic charity gigs for a small handful of people. Pretty cool setting where he takes audience requests. Very intimate and cool.
Not only cool, but I love how those big (often noisy) Wilco songs translate to solo acoustic. At the core, there is great songwriting. Never more evident than on these type of shows.
There are many of these available, but I thought I’d share my favorite one from March 2007. Standout tracks are “Spiders”, “Pot Kettle Black” and “Acuff Rose”. Enjoy!

Quick technical notes:
1. I suggest using this firefox extension for ease of download: DownloadThemAll!
2. These come in FLAC format. Playable on Winamp, but if you want them on your iPod in mp3, then you’ll need a convertor program. Let me suggest this one: Easy CD-DA Extractor
