A TV set full of Metal

Metalocalypse might be the best show about music ever.
For those unfamiliar, it is an adult cartoon show that airs on the "adult
swim" portion of The Cartoon Network. It centers on a heavy metal band named
Dethklok. The show juxtaposes music related comedy with over-the-top gore to
create an odd, yet fascinating show.
Musicians will really appreciate the show's humor. There are jokes about
stomp-boxes, guitar tablature, Esteban's "crappy guitars and half-assed lessons", Scandinavian shredders, tuning lower, . the list goes on. This is what initially drew me to the show. Very funny. Check out the site.
Also, if you have ever liked heavy metal music (I went through an Anthrax /
Metallica phase for a few months during the late 1980s), then this show is
for you. There are tons of jokes regarding that particular worldview. Things
have to be "brutal" or "metal" to be good - even cell phones and coffee, if
you can imagine. And the band is spot on with the grunting lead singer and
lightning fast guitarists.
While on the subject, adult swim contains many, many great shows. Currently
I am addicted to The Venture Brothers. A brilliant homage to adventure
cartoons of the 1970s (think Scooby Doo & Johnny Quest). But also check out
Robot Chicken (a laugh riot for any GenXer who grew up on action figures), Harvey Birdman and Aqua Teen Hunger Force (the most non-sequitor show ever?). In all
honesty, this is the best stuff on TV today, hands down.

In fact, here's something I wrote earlier.
These guys are not only hilarious, but pretty cool as well. Some of the riffs and solos are wicked.
